About Us

It all started when my wife bought me a new kitchen knife. I of course decided I needed a new cutting board to go with it. I looked in stores and online but didn’t find what I was looking for: a good-sized, beautiful board made of interesting wood, for everyday use. So I decided to make my own, by hand. I set up a woodshop in my garage, where my two roadbikes hang from the rafters. In the first few months, I made several boards that I love and still use. To my amazement, family, friends, and people I didn’t even know started asking to buy my boards. A very small business was born. I enjoy every part of the process, from choosing the wood, to watching the finished boards take shape, to carefully packing them for shipping. It is tremendously satisfying to work with my hands, and to make things that bring delight to others.
